DARK GAIA'S PROFILE

I develop games and I write. I have a Bachelor of Arts in creative writing and journalism. I like writing speculative fiction, horror and literary fiction, sometimes all blended together. You can find elements of my writing in my games, because I consider my games to be stories just that happen to have gameplay.

I post updates on my Facebook and Twitter:

Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Realm

Hi! All fixed in the version that's coming out this weekend. Thanks for playing! I'm glad you're enjoying it so far -- I've tried really hard to improve on Legionwood 1 in every way :)

Legionwood: Tale Of The Two Swords

Ah, yes, I know why that would be lagging. Basically, after you come back from the volcano, a plot event gets triggered in the town and changes its state. The events from that quest are in the town, just not active, which could be causing the lag.

I don't intend to update the game until I release Legionwood 2 at least, but if I get a chance I'll look it over and see what I can do.

Legionwood: Tale Of The Two Swords

That update's already come to pass. This is the (for now) "Final Edition". Which town are you lagging in? I'll check it out and see what I can do.

New Release Incoming!

Thanks for the support everyone. A release on Friday or Saturday seems the most likely, since that's when I'll finally have a few spare hours to upload and update the game profile.

New Release Incoming!

People should also keep in mind that there's a host of new balancing and class/equipment tweaks in this new version, so expect that you might have to experiment a little with your character builds.

New Release Incoming!

Thanks! It'd be out already, except that I have to remake the whole end dungeon and cutscene for Act 2, because I did something incredibly stupid and accidentally deleted it while trying to weed out a duplicate map.

Thus, it'll take a few more days to a week :)

Legionwood: Tale Of The Two Swords

Hi! I'm glad you're enjoying the game. The goal was to, basically, try and make a generic old-school/90s style RPG, complete with the cheese. If you've ever played the very early Final Fantasy games (1 and 3 are the ones I mainly drew inspiration from), it's supposed to contain a similar experience. I'm playing through the FF3 remake at the moment, and I've encountered some Legionwood style random encounters where I died from random lucky hits from the foes -- guess my emulation is accurate :)

In the earlier versions of the game before the AP system was in place, characters had their own unique Techs, and Ark's focused around mind control. It didn't make sense to keep them when the AP system came in, because it kind of elevated him above the other characters, so now he basically has these powers in name only.

And yeah, Merces is basically meant to be a generic evil supervillain, complete with monologues :)

If you liked Legionwood, be sure to check out the sequel!

Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Realm

Ah, yes, I understand now. The key to that puzzle is pushing the boulder in a specific series of directions. First, you have to push it from its starting location onto the UP facing arrow. Then, push it two tiles down onto the DOWN facing arrow. Check the sculpture and you should unlock the crystal :)

Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Realm

Thanks for the tip. I'll be sure to check those additional parts out. There probably won't be new faces in the 4.0 release though -- I'm running late as it is. They'll have to wait until the full game release.

Thanks for playing!

Legionwood 2: Rise of the Eternal's Realm

I'm sorry, there's no location called Map 090 in the game. Could you elaborate?
